Fund Overview

AC Ventures Climate & Sustainability Fund, managed by AC Ventures, a leading high growth investment firm in Southeast Asia, is the firm’s inaugural climate strategy focused on accelerating decarbonization and climate resilience across Southeast Asia. The fund is female-led, with the majority of firm employees identifying as women, and local women representing one-third of its Investment Committee. Half of the portfolio will be deployed in Indonesia — one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable nations, where 42 million people are at high risk from rising sea levels and over 2,000 islands may disappear by 2050 — with the other half targeting emerging Asia.

Why We Invested

AC Ventures Climate & Sustainability Fund is 100% focused on scalable climate solutions with material impact in highly climate-vulnerable markets such as Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The fund demonstrates a clear understanding of the disproportionate challenges and barriers women and girls face, as well as the market, financial, compliance, operational, and reputational risks that arise when gender inclusion is overlooked. It targets high-impact sectors where gender inclusion drives measurable financial, social, and environmental benefits: renewable energy, EV and mobility, energy efficiency, climate-smart agriculture, and waste and circularity. Across these industries, women play a pivotal role in driving adoption, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

Women as Agents of Change

AC Ventures Climate & Sustainability Fund believes women are critical ‘Agents of Change’ in addressing climate challenges and has built gender inclusion into the core of its investment thesis. The fund supports women as leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, workers, and consumers, driving sustainable solutions across climate sectors. Across AC Ventures’ family of funds, gender inclusion efforts are anchored around a 20 - 30% baseline, with continuous efforts to strengthen representation across the firm and portfolio — an approach that will also extend to the Climate & Sustainability Fund. It also backs solutions designed with women’s needs in mind, recognizing their influence as key decision-makers and end-users in the adoption of climate-smart products and services.

An example of this is Koltiva, a digital solution for climate-smart agriculture that’s focused on helping farmers (especially women coffee producers and smallholders) improve crop resilience, productivity, and income security. Through training, digital financial services, and access to sustainable farming techniques, Koltiva empowers women farmers to gain greater control over their businesses, achieve better yields, and build stronger resilience to climate change.
